| Situated in the pretty working village of Albunuelas, where you will see more working mules than motor vehicles, is the sympathetically restored Casa Azul. After 12 months hard work by your hosts Mary Ann and Ken on this run down ruin it is now a small, friendly B & B in the centre of the village. |

Our facilities consist of three twin bedded double rooms each with its own on-suite shower/bathroom. One of these is large enough to accommodate an extra single bed or cot if required. In each room you will find tea and coffee making facilities. There is a combined lounge/dining room on the ground floor with English T/V and radio, CD player with a good selection of discs, small libary and a selection of games. For those cooler winter evenings there is a wood burning stove. Opening off the lounge is a shady internal courtyard with a selection of plants, small, traditional fountain and table and chairs. On the roof terrace there is a splash pool, BBQ and sun loungers all for the exclusive use of our guests. We also offer a studio apartment. |
| Within a few minutes walk of Casa Azul you will find four bars and three mini-markets which can supply all your needs. Two of the bars have restaurants that serve traditional Spanish food at very reasonable prices and all of them give free tapas with every drink. For the times when you would rather eat in, we can by arrangement supply evening meals in the dining room or you can talk to Mary Ann and she will let you use her kitchen. However we have a large fridge/freezer for your use so that you can plan pleasant evening BBQ's on the roof terrace over looking the magnificent Sierra Nevadas. There is of course a plentiful supply of utensils plus a pair of binoculars so that the nature lovers can watch the eagles as they hunt up and down the gorge. |

Activities:
The Lecrin Valley (Moorish for The Valley of Happiness) is a world removed from the noise and bustle of every day life. Here you can walk among oranges, lemons, pomegranates, figs, almonds, grapes, avocados and olives. The wild flowers and plants are spectacular especially in the spring while the bougainvillea, wild jasmine and oleander bloom all summer. Lake Beznar in the bottom of the gorge is about 25 miles round and will provide a weeks walking without leaving the valley. |
| The
bird life around the lake is both numerous and varied, but it was the fantastic
carp fishing that led us to discover this wonderful area. In a previous
life we owned three busy fishing tackle shops in the UK and now we can
supply any guests with all that they require to enjoy the sport on offer.
There is no charge for the use of the equipment but if you want to fish you must have an Andalucian license which we will obtain for you. The cost is approx 10 Euros and we need four weeks notice, a photo copy of your passport and your original English license. For non walkers and anglers there is plenty to keep you occupied. |

| The Coast is 40 mins away, Granada and The Alhambra are 30 mins, Lanjaron and its healing baths are 20 mins, horse riding and conducted walks are available in the village, plenty of golf nearby and of course in the winter we have the spectacular ski slopes just one hour away. Bring your own kit or hire it there. We also have two quality snow boards for the free use of guests |
