On a hilltop, in Casarabonela (Málaga, Spain), surrounded by marvelous scenery is situated La Era Hotel, where you will find the best place to rest comfortably and enjoy nature. 

La Era Hotel is a country boutique hotel with character and a special charm for those travelers looking to find peace, tranquility and personalized service. The Hotel owners, Isabel and Frank, personally greet their guests to the hotel helping to make it a special stay where they can feel at home. A Home with incredible views and beautifully tended gardens. 

The hotel is designed and decorated with a mixture of styles that run from the classic to the rustic. As a genteel and welcome home in the country, the Hotel has a dining room, terrace and bar service for the exclusive use of its guests where they can savor a delicious meal and enjoy their favorite drinks. A comfortable sitting room provides guests with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Good music and easy reading from the library by the light of the fire on chilly days or nights makes for the delight of all. 

La Era exhibits an important collection of oil paintings - restorations and contemporary works - as well as antiques, some brought expressly from distant parts of the world and that can be admired in any part of the hotel. 

The La Era Breakfast meant to give you a good start for a day of exploring or relaxing offers daily a choice of cereals, seasonal fruit, fresh squeezed local oranges, charcuterie and cheese, village pastry and bread, plus home baked cakes. 

When it can be arranged, choose from a variety of salads and delicious sandwich creations served indoors, on the terrace or by the pool for lunch. 

Dinner is available every evening except Sunday and Wednesday leaving those nights for the guests to explore and savor the local fare. Isabel can give you her own list of village favourites. 

Those guests who are vegetarian may have a menu to suit their needs. The La Era Bodega features a careful selection of Spanish wines.

Available to the guests are nine double rooms; each decorated in a different style making them unique in order to offer not only comfort but an unforgettable and distinct stay on each visit. Every room, named after the nine towns which form part of the Community of Sierra de las Nieves, displays original oil paintings and engravings that together with the furnishing denotes the care placed in decorating each. 

All of the rooms provide a full luxury bath with additional accesories such as magnifying mirror or hair dryer which make the daily toilette a pleasure, individualized air conditioning and heating, direct line telephone service, satelite T.V. reception from various countries, safe, mini bar and terrace or balcony with spectacular views. 

La Era also offers internet service to its guests. Nightly, the finely embroidered sheets are pulled back inviting guests to a restful sleep.  Ample and carefully tended gardens, respecting the environment, surround the hotel. Within these gardens, at the foot of the threshing floor, the hotel has a pool for the private use of its guests.

Location and situation: 
 For those desirous of other amusement La Era also offers activities such as: hiking, horse riding, 4 wheel drive excursions, or parapente. All of these can be carried out or contracted from the hotel. Playing golf or enjoying the beach are less than an hours drive away, including possible visits to closeby cities  and towns such as the coastal Málaga, capital of the province and home to the new Picasso museum which houses an important collection of works by the world reknown painter, native of Málaga. 
Also now open to visitors and completing the cultural, historical offering of the city are the Arab fortress "La Alcazaba" and the Roman amphitheatre. 

La Era Hotel is found in Casarabonela, one of the "White villages" of Andalucía, just 42 km. from Málaga, capital of the Costa del Sol and home to the new Picasso museum. The area surrounding Casarabonela is known as "Sierra de las Nieves" named a Biosphere Reserve by the Unesco.

  • Antequera, with the enigmatic natural stone structures of El Torcal National Park close by is a mere 45 km.

  • Marbella, city where the jet set abounds the distance from the hotel is 70 Km 
  • Beaches and golf - Torremolinos (45 Km.approx.), Fuengirola (55 Km. approx.),  Marbella (70 Km. approx.), Estepona (80 Km. approx.).
