Travelling to Tenerife

Tenerife Hotels  -  Return to Travel Articles

If you have picked Tenerife as your last minute holiday destination this year, you might find that you are overwhelmed with the vast array of different kinds of vacations that are on offer on this popular Spanish Island. A quick visit to your nearest Thomas Cook should be more than enough to open your eyes to the enormity of choice available to travellers to Tenerife. Let’s take a closer look at a few of the most popular:
1. Tenerife holidays all inclusive of food, flights, transfers, accommodation and activities are a popular choice with those who don’t have too much time on their hands to make all the arrangements themselves. All inclusive deals are often great value, as your travel agent will have done all the hard work for you, negotiating with a range of different companies in order to find the best deal. They don’t, however, offer maximum flexibility, so if you like to be the one in control whilst on vacation, this might not be the best choice for you.

2. Adrenaline seeker? There are a wide variety of fun packed activities to try whilst travelling in Tenerife. If you fancy trying your hand at wind surfing you might like to head down to El Medano - a beach that is famous for hosting several world championship competitions every year. At El Medano and at many of Tenerife’s other beaches, you are also sure to find a wide variety of different water sports on offer.  If you prefer to get your kicks on land, however, Tenerife also boasts a range of challenging hiking opportunities and rock climbing excursions. Particularly if you are travelling towards the end of the summer, when temperatures start to drop a little, Tenerife is a great place to get active.

3. Tenerife is also well furnished with a range of relaxation facilities. From 5* spa hotels through to week-long yoga and meditation retreats, there are plenty of options available for those who are looking for a deeply rejuvenating experience.
