Originally designed as a country house in the 16th century, Cal Mestre is the second oldest building in the picturesque hamlet of Les Gunyoles, in the province of Barcelona. Visitors will delight in the spectacular views of the valley of vineyards from which the Penedès wine is produced, and the unique, rugged peaks of Montserrat. Here there are so many different atmospheres for you to enjoy: the peace and quiet of the beautiful Catalan countryside, culture, the fascinating city of Barcelona with its outstanding architecture and boulevards, the old Roman city of Tarragona, sports activities, beaches and all the gastronomic delights of Mediterranean cuisine. And of course our lovely swimming pool and Finnish and infrared sauna.

Accommodation:

Cal Mestre has 3 rooms (double/twin), all with private bathroom with shower and 1 luxury apartment for 2. One of the rooms has shower and bath tub.

Cal Mestre is happy to offer her guests a lovely apartment / holiday home of 70 m2 for 2 or for a family with 1 or 2 small children. 

The apartment is extendable with another bedroom with ensuite bathroom for again two people.
 

The big attraction is Barcelona, one of the most popular cities to visit.  Barcelona airport (El Prat) is 40 kms away (approx. 40 minute drive).

Other places to see and things to do:

• Tarragona with its treasured remains of Roman architecture and its quaint, old town centre.
• Montserrat mountain, with its beautiful monastery and the tiny cloister which guards the statue of the Black Madonna.
• Vilafranca del Penedès, where there is a huge, local market on Saturdays.
• The Garraf Nature Park, with a variety of interesting routes for hiking or walking.
• The Penedès (visit the wine cellars, cava tasting, and paths which are ideal for walking or cycling).
• The beaches of Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Cubelles and other small towns along the coast.
• Golf courses (near Barcelona, Sitges and Tarragona).
• And much more...

Cal Mestre is a lovely relaxing place for yoga breaks for small groups (3 - 6 people). 

Example of a day program:

Before breakfast you start the day with comfortable exercises to wake up the body. 

Between 12.00 a.m. - 1.30 p.m.: Hatha yoga session followed by a light lunch.

In the afternoon you make your choice between a walk, a bike ride through the vinyards, a swim, sauna (Finnish and infrared), a massage. 

At 7 p.m. dinner is served and at 9.30 p.m. we will close the day with an evening meditation.

Weekend:

A weekend break begins on Friday afternoon as from 4 p.m. en ends after Sunday afternoon lunch (additional nights possible). Costs: from 240 Euros per person.
